Ponie - Perl on new internal engine. (Arthur Bergman)

Ponie is the adapted version of perl5 that runs on top of parrot while still maintaining the original perl5 source code for most support functions including regular expressions system, compiler and extension/embedding API. It does this by providing wrappers around the Parrot API that mimic the perl API.

This talk will describe the progress of the Ponie project, what is changing and what is staying the same, as well as the methods used to bridge the two vast codebases of perl5 and parrot together and the problems encountered.
